spin cycle presents

Spin Cycle Presents is a Los Angeles-based event promotion company founded by Keith Erickson in 2009. Keith created Spin Cycle out of a need for like-minded folks to perform, network, socialize and grow into the vibrant community it is today.

The Spin Cycle @ TRiP series is a monthly eclectic musical showcase featuring popular bands and up and coming live acts looking for exposure, adding a much-desired Northeast improvisational flavor to the West Side of LA. These shows have quickly built a loyal following and become a central hub for Los Angeles' growing jamband and experimental music community

In addition to this popular music series, Spin Cycle has been involved in other high profile events around the LA area, including everal sold out "Cosmik Playground" superjam concerts (featuring members of Umphrey's McGee, Frank Zappa, String Cheese Incident and Digital Tape Machine), Soulshine Daydream Wellness Festival, Shaky Feelin's seminal Album Release Party at the historic Crest Theatre, Mission 24 (a 24-hour underground music festival), the Shakedown Music Series at the Basement Tavern and the live TV broadcast series Birds of a Feather @ Kulaks Woodshed.

Eric Krasno Trio with Swatkins & The Positive Agenda, and Myra Flynn at The Mint | September 21, 2019. All photos by Robert Staley. “I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. Thank you!” Eric Krasno at The Mint. Towards the end of a blistery jam packed two hour one set, Grammy award winning Eric Krasno looked over the sold out crowd at The Mint with a huge smile. This was his first show in LA since moving to the area, and he was received with a huge sold out crowd. Spin Cycle fans packed The Mint, for a triple bill of Myra Flynn, Swatkins and the Positive Agenda and the Eric Krasno Trio. After two nights At Bob Weir’s Sweetwater Café where they were joined by Graham Lesh ands Reed Mathis, Krasno and his fellow Eric bandmates stopped in LA before a 4 night run at the Legendary Blue Note Café in NYC. Eric Finland (keys) and Eric Kalb(drums) backed up Krasno as he started the show with two tunes from his album Blood from A Stone. As he shown thru out his career, Eric is a versatile musician. The trio ripped thru an extended Scarlet Begonias and Sugaree. They also pulled from Eric’s Soulive days with a jazzy cover of the Beatles’ Get Back. Soulive released Rubber Soulive in 2010. 11 Beatles tracks given the Soulive treatment. Definitely worth checking out. The encore pulled from the other area of Eric’s career, his connection to NOLA Funk and Geroge Porter Jr, as the trio dropped a funky (as if it can be any other way) Cissy Strut. After a great opening set by Myra Flynn and a “Funky Dance Party Blast Off” by Swatkins and the Positive Agenda (don’t sleep on these guys!), Krasno and the Eric’s blasted thru two hours of music. The new LA native was definitely pumped on the show and the sell out. With a turnout like this, we’ll be seeing more of Eric in LA for sure. And be sure to keep your eye out for a west coast Soulive run in 2020!!!!
